Course details

The course Community-Based Integrated Learning Design Using Design Thinking aims to develop learners' understanding of integrated learning design in community contexts. It applies the Design Thinking process to analyze problems, understand learners' needs, and develop appropriate learning approaches.

Learners will explore the fundamental concepts of integrated learning design and the five stages of Design Thinking:

  1. Empathize: Understand learners by exploring their needs and learning contexts.

  2. Define: Analyze and define problems or needs based on the community context.

  3. Ideate: Generate creative ideas and alternative solutions that address community needs.

  4. Prototype: Develop a prototype of community-based integrated learning.

  5. Test: Test the proposed learning design and use the results to improve it.

The course promotes analytical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and the ability to design learning experiences that connect knowledge with real community contexts. Learners will be able to apply the concepts and processes to develop appropriate learning activities and instructional approaches.

Learning is delivered through online video lessons, with pre-tests and post-tests in each chapter to help learners assess their knowledge and understanding.
