Course details

The Lanna Music course aims to provide learners with knowledge and understanding of Lanna music within its historical, social, and cultural contexts. The course begins with an introduction to Lanna and its people, providing a foundation for understanding the cultural background and identity of the Lanna region.

The course covers the scope and theories of Lanna music, traditional Lanna musical instruments and ensembles, and a brief history of Lanna music. These topics help learners understand the essential characteristics and components of traditional Lanna music.

In addition, learners will explore the history and development of Lanna music, as well as the relationship between Lanna music and tourism, to gain insight into its roles in society, culture, and tourism.

This course is suitable for university students and individuals interested in traditional music, Lanna arts and culture, and local cultural heritage. It aims to promote understanding and appreciation of the cultural value of Lanna music.
